A Beautiful Spring Day

Writer's picture: Marla BrignacMarla Brignac

Another week goes by and work day #2 has come and gone. We don't have too much more to report. We did have a huge dumpster delivered during the week. I also stopped by the court house and filled out the necessary paperwork and paid the fee to officially put the property in our name. Then on Friday, Dan and I spent the day working, doing more cleanup. There is not much that I can do inside right now without water except to throw out a few things and sweep.

Dan immediately got back to wacking things in the yard. That meant that I had to get to work dragging branches to the road.

We had a visit from my brother, Randy, and then went shopping in his storage shed for lawn chairs. Now we can sit out in the yard and enjoy the nice weather on work breaks. Thanks Randy! We visited a local eatery for lunch and headed back to the house. Dan's real project for today was to start taking the old shed down. So at this point he began to see what that entailed. Luckily Mary and Kerry came by. Kerry helped Dan with removing tin from the shed roof while Mary cringed with nervousness while watching.

All in all, it was a very good day. A couple of highlights or pleasant distractions from that day were a flyover by what looked light Blue Angel jets, a visit from a couple of chickens, and a huge mouse (rat?) that scurried across the yard and disappeared. I guess that last one was not pleasant, just interesting. We mostly enjoyed the pleasant spring breezes and support from family that stopped by.

See Day 2 in the GALLERY for a few more before and after pictures.
